The Importance of Having Your Home Blessed

What is a home blessing?

Home Blessings involve visiting individual homes by a priest accompanied by a prayer team. The prayer team consists of 1 or 2 prayerful people who assist the priest. They also answer questions and accompany the family in the home blessing.

  • Why have your home blessed?

Blessing your home is a powerful means of protecting and sanctifying your family and home. Bringing God’s blessing to your home through the sanctified hands of a Catholic priest is a true means to peace in an otherwise complicated world. Your home should be a place of safety and refuge for all who live there.

  • When does the Family Apostolate bless homes?

Homes are blessed from the beginning of October (Mary’s Month) through December 8th (the Feast of the Immaculate Conception) or by special appointment by contacting Fr. Vin or Patti Rubin. The home blessings are always under the mantle of our Blessed Mother. The blessings are conducted on Saturday mornings. Appointments are at 10:00 am and 12:00 noon.

  • How do I sign up to have my home blessed?

Sign-up’s for the Fall Home Blessings are during September. There are sign-up sheets in the vestibule of each of the three parishes and Arthur Slade hall. Please fill out your name, full address with zip code, a good phone number where you can be reached and an email if you have one. A Family Apostolate team member will contact you to schedule your home blessing.
